0588. Effects of norepinephrine on tissue perfusion in a sheep model of intraabdominal hypertension
نویسندگان
چکیده
Objectives To describe the effects of IAH on regional and microcirculatory intestinal blood flow, renal blood flow, and urine output, as well as their responses to increases in blood pressure induced by norepinephrine. Methods In 24 anesthetized, mechanically ventilated, and fluidresuscitated sheep, we measured systemic hemodynamics, left renal and superior mesenteric artery blood flows, villi microcirculation, ileal intramucosal-arterial PCO2 (ΔPCO2), and urine output. IAH (20 mm Hg) was generated by intraperitoneal instillation of warmed saline. After 1 h of IAH, sheep were randomized to control (n = 8) or norepinephrine (n = 8) groups for 1 h. In this last group, mean arterial pressure was increased about 20 mm Hg by means of norepinephrine. A sham group (n = 8) was also studied.

Effects of norepinephrine on tissue perfusion in a sheep model of intra-abdominal hypertension
BACKGROUND The aim of the study was to describe the effects of intra-abdominal hypertension (IAH) on regional and microcirculatory intestinal blood flow, renal blood flow, and urine output, as well as their response to increases in blood pressure induced by norepinephrine. METHODS This was a pilot, controlled study, performed in an animal research laboratory. Twenty-four anesthetized and mech...
متن کاملEffects of N-acetyl-L-cysteine on Postoperative Intrabdominal Adhesion in a Large Animal Model
Objective- Mechanisms that decrease oxidative stress and enhance peritoneal fibrinolysis reduce adhesions. N-acetyl-L-cysteine (NAC) is an antioxidant whose effect on peritoneal fibrinolysis in large animal model has not been established. The aims of this study were to investigate the ability of NAC to decreased adhesion in stablished model of serosal trauma in sheep. Design- Expe...
متن کاملTranslation of Methdology used in Human Myocardial Imaging to a Sheep Model of Acute Myocardial Infarction
Background: Pre-clinical investigation of stem cells for repairing damaged myocardium predominantly used rodents, however large animals have cardiac circulation closely resembling the human heart. The aim of this study was to evaluate whether SPECT/CT myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI) could be used for assessing sheep myocardium following an acute myocardial infarction (MI) and response to int...
متن کاملA novel isolated dual perfusion/superfusion heart model for physiological and pharmacological evaluation of mammalian heart preparations
Abstract Introduction: Isolated perfused heart models such as perfusion and superfusion are commonly used for mammalian heart research. However, there are several fundamental limitations in the current techniques. In perfusion model, a suitable cannula is connected to the aorta and the perfusion is retrogradely performed. But, electrode displacement is a potential unwanted event resulted fr...
متن کاملCentral administration of resistin into the paraventricular nucleus (PVN) produces significant cardiovascular responses
Introduction: Resistin, a complex multimeric structure which is secreted by adipose tissue and circulates in the blood, acts on the hypothalamus to increase sympathetic nerve activity, inhibit appetite and is associated with obesity, insulin resistance and cardiovascular disorders. In this study, we survey the cardiovascular effects of direct injection of resistin into specific cell group of th...
